Hogent is located in the beautiful historic city of Ghent, Belgium’s largest student city, and has a wide range of subjects on offer. The Faculty of Business & Information Management offers 4 bachelor study programmes in the following fields: Office Management (with a strong emphasis on languages and ICT for future management assistants and translators), Business Management, Retail Management & Applied Information Technology.
Jo De Bruyn
Jo De Bruyn, lic. German Phil (RU Gent) and post-univ. courses Marketing and sales Ehsal (Brussels), has a wide experience in marketing & communications. He started In different Belgian communication agencies as a direct marketing expert & client director. In 1996 he founded In Concreto, a no-nonsense communication agency specialized in action marketing. From 2014 Jo is also leading the DM Institute, a community of 300 direct and digital marketeers in Belgium in order to inspire each other with clear cases and workshops. From 2015 Jo is also lector for Direct & Digital Marketing courses for all the marketing communication students of HoGent. He is an interactive coach in order to create the right atmosphere to give each other deep insights and creative, inspiring point of views. His motto: All communication should add to your business-goals.
Brigitte has a Master in Applied Economics (University of Antwerp) and a Master in Marketing (Vlerick Management School). Brigitte has worked as a marketing manager for a Belgian retailer and was responsible for a Belgian apparel brand which was active in France and the UK. During her academic career, Brigitte was a lecturer in marketing strategy and communications and international marketing. She developed the marketing bachelor programme and was involved in developing our international bachelor after bachelor, as well as our sme and Retail programme. She conducts research (social media), is the coordinator of the marketing programme and is the head of the commercial department.
